Things have been busy at The MediaFile. We’ve got some amazing new writers coming on board. We made a film, that will be releasing very soon, and we’re going work on cleaning up the site and getting more regular content out to all of you, so be sure to keep and eye on us!
Last night, a bunch of us got together for a new podcast, so check it out!
We continue our tradition of opening each show with a terrible beverage, this week was NattyDaddy… ugh.
Godzilla had a huge opening weekend, so we talked about that with the biggest Godzilla fan we know, we fail to discuss Net Neutrality and we wrap up by discussing the future of the giant monster (Kaiju) movie genre!
Uncle Ruckus is a character from The Boondocks (go watch it, it’s awesome!), and we were lucky enough to have some version of him pop through and guide on a review of the Bud Light Lime-A-Rita, a discussion on the Ukraine, and finally a look at our “Best Books of All Time.”
We haven’t been blogging much, but we’re putting out a podcast every week! In this episode, Tom doesn’t say ‘Mario’ right, Twitch Plays Pokemon, we discuss the future of video games and Bill is obsessed with Godzilla!
If you’re a Doctor Who fan and you watched the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor, you might have noticed (if you were paying attention) that the writers did some very clever things and gave the fans several amazing gifts with this very special episode.
It truly takes a gifted writer to make epic, game-changing alterations to a series’ future AND PAST, without any terrible retroactive continuity gaffs. But they pulled it off. They changed the nature of the character. They didn’t ruin any of the prior show content. It was a masterful piece of sci-fi adventure television!
Please give our show a listen to hear about some of the things we are excited about.
A few of us from The MediaFile got together to watch it (along with an International simulcast!), and we recorded our reactions as a podcast!
We begin with a discussion of Kevin Smith’s new project, called Tusk. That leads in to an old video we recorded years ago (it’ll go up on YouTube as soon as I find a copy!). Then we somehow run through Godzilla, The Avengers, comics, sketch comedy, Movie 43 and all sorts of things!
Finally we talk a bit about the upcoming The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and discuss our favorite end-credit songs from movies.
This was fun! A few of us here at The MediaFile have been working on development of a game system for a long time! It’s called Splintered Humanity and it’s the creation of Ray Corsetti, Matt Turner and others!
It sounds like an amazing, rich, and complex game world and system with a lot of promise!
We discuss the history of the setting, the factions/races, potential game products for the future and the Creative Commons model for getting this all done!
