ICYMI, there was some very cool news today! Remember Reading Rainbow? It ran from 1983 until 2006! Through it, Levar Burton, who we all know was Geordi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, encouraged several generations of kids to read! It worked great, because it met kids where they probably already were, the television screen, and encouraged them to seek out books. Today’s kids might not be watching TV the same way. We are now raising a generation of ‘digital natives’ that are perfectly comfortable on a tablet or a smartphone. Well, Levar Burton and his team have a solution for that, find out what it is after the jump!
Kickstarter! We, here at The MediaFile love Kickstarter! The production team behind Reading Rainbow want to bring it to the internet, and have asked for our help! Check out this infographic to get a sense of their motivations:
This sounds incredible!
Now. This was only just announced, and they’ve ALREADY reached there $1,000,000 goal! But let’s not let it go just yet. There are some amazing rewards! Including several Star Trek themed ones! That, and they have some very ambitious stretch goals! We should all go pledge… “But you don’t have to take my word for it!”
